A custom embroidery website for Embroidery Kent

embroiderykent.co.uk
The Embroidery Kent homepage

Embroidery Kent stitches logos onto workwear, uniforms, caps and branded kit from a workshop in North Kent. Embroidery is a craft where the difference is in tiny details, so the website we built for them is designed to let customers see those details up close.

The business

Embroidery Kent has more than twelve years of embroidery experience. The workshop runs fifteen-head machines with a full thread library, including metallics, and has an in-house digitiser. They embroider workwear and uniforms, polos and schoolwear, caps and headwear (flat or 3D puff), branded merchandise, event pieces such as wedding linen and sashes, and personalised gifts. There is no big minimum order: a single item is welcome, and so is a run of thousands. Orders are posted across the UK or collected from the workshop.

What the site had to do

Anyone can say they do embroidery. What separates a good embroiderer from a poor one — crisp small text, logos that sit flat on a softshell, no puckering — is almost invisible in a small photo. The site needed to prove the quality of the stitching, explain why it is better, and make it effortless to send a logo for a price.

What we built

  • A gallery you can zoom into. Recent pieces are shown in frames that open up close, so visitors can inspect the actual stitching on a hi-vis fleece, a metallic monogram or an illustrated jacket back.
  • A plain explanation of digitising. Most embroidery problems come from poor stitch files rather than the machines. The site explains that files are plotted by hand and that customers approve a photographed sample before anything goes into production.
  • A four-step process: send your logo (a phone photo of a business card will do), the logo is digitised, you approve a sample, and your order is stitched and sent back within five to seven working days.
  • Services laid out by what people need — workwear, schoolwear, caps, merchandise, events and gifts — with separate sections for printing and badges, plus pricing and an FAQ.
  • Social proof from real sectors: a strip of brands the workshop has stitched for, and reviews from a building services firm, a sports club and an independent café.

Built to be found

The page title is written around what local buyers search for — Custom Embroidery Kent, followed by workwear, uniforms and branded kit. The description gives two reasons to click straight away: digitising from £10, and a one-item minimum. The site also has an areas section, so the business can be found by people searching in the towns around the workshop, not only by county.

Owned outright

The Embroidery Kent website belongs to the business. Every file is theirs, it can be hosted anywhere, and it can be changed by any developer. No subscription keeps it online.
